孩子記得 Jolly 第一組的 letter sounds，就可以開始學習 blending。但由 letter sounds 進展至 blending，當中需要很多輸入、練習、活動。
相片的是 Finger Phonics Book，家長可以把字的 letter sounds 讀出，讓孩子猜猜這組成的字，譬如，
What is /s/ /a/ /n/ /d/?
Can you point at the /s/ /u/ /n/?
Jolly 詳列不同的學習階段（譬如只學了三個 sounds /s/ /a/ /t/ 可組合的字），學生可以學習拼讀的字母組合，練習快速地逐個音讀出，以及說出整個字的讀音。
或者從 beginning sounds 著手，從一堆圖片中找出開首字母是 /s/ 的物件，或者可以透過 word family 學習拼讀不同首字母的字，例如 an 字，ban, can, fan, man, ran! 這部份我有很多遊戲，例如 alphabet puzzle, word wheel, picture match 等等，這些都是免費的網上資源，實用又有趣，有興趣可 pm 我。
能夠辨別以及拼讀 beginning sounds 後，可以練習 ending sounds，以及中間的 vowels，最後才拆解全組字母，先逐個字母讀出再合拼。最初可以由師長把 letter sounds 讀出，孩子 blend，然後才由孩子自己把字母逐一讀出 letter sounds 自己拼讀。
只要反覆不斷地聽示範、練習，這樣子拼出 cvc words 就不難啊。
